Our school-based health centers provide complete healthcare for students, including physical exams, immunizations and vaccines, mental health counseling and support, and treatment when your child is sick. Syracuse Community Health’s medical team can handle most health needs right at school, so your child doesn’t miss class time for appointments. If urgent care is needed outside school hours, our Urgent Care Center is open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Enrolling your child is easy with three convenient options: complete the enrollment packet available at your child’s school, stop by any School-Based Health Center during school hours, or visit your school’s main office. Syracuse Community Health staff will help you complete the simple enrollment process so your child can start receiving care right away.

School-based health centers are open during regular school hours when classes are in session. If your child needs care outside these hours, Syracuse Community Health’s Urgent Care Center is available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. for urgent medical needs, and our main health centers offer appointments year-round.

All services at Syracuse Community Health’s school-based health centers are provided regardless of ability to pay. Whether your family has insurance, Medicaid, Child Health Plus, or no insurance at all, your child can receive physical exams, immunizations, mental health care, and sick visits. We never turn away students based on inability to pay.

Yes, Syracuse Community Health provides all required immunizations and comprehensive sports physicals right at your child’s school-based health center. Our healthcare providers can complete the physical exams needed for sports participation, camp, or school requirements. This convenient service means your child can get vaccines and physicals without you having to take time off work or find transportation to a doctor’s office.

If your child becomes sick at school, they can visit the school-based health center staffed by Syracuse Community Health providers. Our medical team can evaluate your child, provide treatment for common illnesses, and determine if they’re well enough to return to class or need to go home. This immediate access to care helps your child feel better faster and reduces missed school days.

Once you complete the enrollment process and provide consent, your child can receive most routine care at the school-based health center without you being present. Syracuse Community Health staff will contact you for important health matters and will always communicate about your child’s care. This allows your child to get timely healthcare during the school day while keeping you informed and involved.
